About The Jolt

Dissatisfied with University web sites that were designed more for prospective students than current ones, and lame attempts by companies to create sites for the college student, several students from Amherst College decided to enact upon their own venture. Since then, Project Jolt has expanded to more than 100 college campuses nationwide. Each individual site is a success because it is run by students at that school.

The Tulane Jolt, founded in '01, seeks to improve the Tulane community by educating students about New Orleans and their University, and by encouraging the exchange of ideas through the online forums.

Tulane's Daily Jolt was founded by Joseph Tremblay '02 and Jami Ford '02. The Jolt continued through Chris Kennedy '04 and Lindsey Tubbs '06, who brought Max Berde '08 on board in the Fall of 2005 after students turned to the Jolt in mass for information regarding the school after Hurricane Katrina took its toll on the city in August 2005. As a result of cut backs at Tulane, Max head to leave for greener engineering pastures, and Miranda Merriman '09 and Ashley Crowder '09 were recruited to keep the Jolt fresh and exciting for the tenure of their Tulane careers.
